The Word, the Mind of God

For in him [Christ] dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.  And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:                  ~ Colossians 2:9-10

Christ is God, the only God.  The ‘Word’ is the Mind of God, the Logos.  That’s how Christ is in God His Father and God the Father in Christ, His Son, and how They are in us, the believers, by way of God’s Holy Spirit.

This is not the same as a trinity, three persons in one.  This is God in Jesus Christ and They as One, in us believers, and us in Them, through the Spirit (Breath) of God, His Holy Spirit.  (See John 17, maybe the most beautiful chapter in the Holy Bible.)

Hallelujah!  :- )

Thy Will Be Done and Not Mine.

Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.”                                                                                                                                                           ~ Proverbs 13:10

Whenever I’m angry or even slightly irritated with someone or some situation (i.e., when I am full of contention), if I look with brutal honesty within myself, I’ll see that it’s my unfulfilled desire to have something my way that’s bugging me in that moment.  This goes for the important things as well as the tawdry annoyances of  daily life.

And unless I remember that it’s “Thy will be done” and not my will be done, any desire I have that’s not coming as I wish it would, is pride before God, plain and simple.

The second half of this verse reminds me that if I stay in my Holy Bible I will stay “well-advised” and therefore gain the wisdom of God and be reminded that with pride comes contention, because whatever’s causing my upset probably falls into one of these three categories:  “…the lust of the flesh,…the lust of the eyes, [or] the pride of life,” which are “not of the Father, but…of the world.”  ~ 1 John 2:16

God’s Angels Are In Charge.

“God shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.”                                                                                                                                              ~ Psalm 91:11

We hear a lot these days about the dark angels, the errant “sons of God”; the armies of fallen Lucifer who then became Satan; devils, demons which surround us and who are using men, women, children, even animals to create the nonstop darkness which daily threatens our peace in almost everywhere we look.

While I don’t disagree that Satan and his minions are working overtime these days (Baphomet statues, Baal’s Arch, Beyoncé or Katy Perry holding black masses at halftime, drag queens reading to preschoolers, etc.)  I tend to forget that God also has His angels down here.  They just seem to work more quietly.  But they’re here, and they’re working.

God has given them charge over us, the way a loyal watchdog has charge over a baby stroller.  God’s angels keep us in all our ways, as long as we believe only in the one true God.  Trust Him.  In the name of Jesus Christ.  May His angels keep you and your family in all your ways.

Read Verses in Their Contexts

Hi.  I just wanted to say I don’t believe in plucking verses out of context from the Holy Bible and applying them to all people, and every and all situations.  The verses I choose to post here and comment briefly on are those which hold special meaning for me and which I’d like to pass along.

I pray that after reading any of the verses here that you will “walk circumspectly” as Paul said to the Ephesians 5:15 (See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.)  Read at least a few verses (or more) before and after.  And please do use the King James Version of the Holy Bible which uses the Textus Receptus, which is the most trustworthy to the original manuscripts from which the texts of most of the Bibles throughout the past hundreds of years were taken.

The best online KJV is KJV Pure Bible Search.  Once on the site, just find your device or computer that fits and download.  Once downloaded, it’s fast and simple to use and you can copy-paste from it at will.

Well, thanks for listening and God bless you and your family.

Keep praying!

For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.  ~ Isaiah 41:13

In this verse, God is speaking to Isaiah, a man of God.  God helps those who believe in Him and trust His will, even when things don’t look so good.  Keep praying to God the Father in the name of his Son and our Savior and mediator Jesus Christ.  And have faith in Him to help you.

We Love Him, Because He First Loved Us.

 ~ 1 John 4:19

Those of us who are blessed to be saved by Jesus Christ are deeply grateful because He loved us first, and God the Father brought us to Jesus (No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.  ~ John 6:44 )

What a privilege for a wretch like me!  Yes, I was lost but then I was found, drawn to Jesus Christ by God the Father.  What a miracle!  Let me remember to say thank you every day of my life and throughout each of those days.  “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” (as the great apostle Paul wrote to the new Christians in Greece,  Philippians 1:21).  Each breath I take is Christ, and when I die it will be gain because I will finally see the face of Jesus Christ.

My prayer is that my loved ones will follow…

God’s Got This!

“In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.”   ~Psalm 94:19

This verse calms me when I start to over-think things, and there are too many of those things flying around inside my head.  And in the multitude of my thoughts God’s comforts delight my soul by reminding me that He’s got this—all of this!
